Once Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer is constructed, all profits raised from its ongoing operation will fund a million bricks worth of social housing. This will provide enough finance to build 100 houses for:
- Social action charities
- Council housing associations
- International social housing charities
Approximately 25% of the bricks that we donate will be used for social housing abroad, whilst the other 75% will go to social housing in the UK.
Further profits will also go into other UK charities. Our social housing commitment is the practical outworking of what Eternal Wall stands for as a charity. We have been clear since the start that we need to sow back into the great work that charitable initiatives are doing across the country. To do this, we are partnering with three organisations to deliver our social housing promise.
- Gavin Mullaley, Cornerstone Partnership
"Cornerstone Partnership is a Social Enterprise whose mission is to protect a share of the housing market, so that those who need it most have a place to call home.
We work in partnership with charities and local authorities, to provide high quality accommodation options, which includes both temporary accommodation, and long-term, truly affordable rents.
However, our support doesn’t end there.
We have seen too many times over the past few years, individuals and families that have “fell through the cracks”. This is why he have also set up Keystone Foundation. Keystone Foundation is a registered charity focused on providing additional housing, financial and support services to the most vulnerable people in society.
We are thrilled to be supporting the Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer, and cannot wait to see how this amazing project develops."
- Abby Sanders, Keystone Foundation
"Keystone Foundation exists to enable the most vulnerable of families to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness. As a charity, we deliver our holistic approach through support services, hardship grants and social housing. Often vulnerable families fall through the cracks and are left homeless. This is where Keystone’s housing can help fill the void and create a stable place for families to call home.
We are thrilled about being a partner through The Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer’s social housing project. We are confident this is going to play a huge part in helping families have safe and quality homes. This will not only provide help for the immediate need but in changing the trajectory of each person’s life in these families. This will bring hope for generations to come and truly break the cycle of poverty and homelessness."
- Ed Walker, Hope Into Action
"Homelessness has increased by 165% since 2010 in the UK. This includes rough-sleepers (average life expectancy 47), those living in a temporary accommodation or inadequately housed, those ‘sofa-surfing’ and those working as modern slaves (over 10,000). 1000s are bringing up children in one room in a hostel or B&B miles from their schools; others are searching for work with no forwarding address, struggling to keep a hold on their mental health while surviving in a tent. That is why giving people a home: a place they feel safe, secure , nurtured with supportive relationships is vital. It enables them to hope and thrive. Yet for 1000’s in this country this is not their reality.
We believe we represent God’s heart for this nation: churches caring the for poor in a way which never loses its spiritual edge."
- Green Pastures
Green Pastures is a Christian Social Enterprise enabling the church to end homelessness. We work with more than 80 Christian Partners, housing and supporting over 1300 residents across the UK. We buy homes through our ethical investment programme, with over 1400 investors who put their money to good work ending homelessness. Additionally our Developments arm works with churches, communities, local authorities and charities, to fund and deliver property developments - with all profits going towards housing the homeless.
Foundational to how we work is to cover all our actions in prayer. We experience the power of prayer at work every day as we tackle the issue of homelessness, and serve the men and women we house and partner with. Most wonderful of all is the number of people who come to Christ through the love and care of our team and our Partners.
